343 Industries is hard at work to make Halo: The Master Chief Collection as good as it was intended to be when it launched back in 2014, and it’s preparing some interesting updates with the help of the community.

Today, the studio has provided the first details and release window for the number one update, which is expected to drop later this summer and to introduce the much anticipated Xbox One X support.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection First Patch To Add Xbox One X Support

This is the full rush of addition being done as part of the first update:

  • Intelligent Install
  • Xbox One X Visual Enhancements
  • HDR/SDR Calibration Settings
  • Networking and Matchmaking Improvements (Continuous Matchmaking, Network/Multiplayer API updates)
  • P1 & P2 Bug Fixes
  • LAN Support
  • UI & UX Updates (Main Menu, Title Screen Video, Button States/Highlight States)

There’s even a new menu in the works, which you can look at in the attached screenshot. Interestingly, the first patch also addresses the main issue with the collection at launch, networking, and matchmaking, that’ll hopefully finally make it for a good online experience.

Expect more news to come at E3 2018 in June, perhaps together with a Halo 6 announcement.
