Konami has put the kibosh on the P.T. fan project made by 17-year-old developer Qimsar. It was all a matter of time until the aspirational remake of the cancelled Silent Hills teaser was pulled, but Konami did offer an olive branch for Qimsar.

In a recent update the talented creator stated that the game has indeed been shut down by Konami due to obvious “legal issues.”

“PT for PC will have to be taken down,” Qismar wrote, “it legitimately seems like it was none of the employee’s faults (from what I understand, everyone over there loved my remake), it was legit just a legal thing that was beyond anybody’s control. However, my remake will not be in vain, for even though Konami had to take down my remake, they are, in my opinion, definitely making up for it.”

Qismar said the company has offered them an internship at its worldwide offices.

Qimsar said that “everyone” at Konami loved the remake. They also claim that a Konami representative confirmed to them that the company is looking to make games beyond mobile and pachinko titles. It’s hard to imagine their fan-game was more convincing than the reception for the original P.T., the Resident Evil sequel inspired by P.T., or the extremely anticipated PlayStation game made from P.T. parts.

The P.T. on PC project was an impressive creation that sought to remake the teaser demo in its entirety. There was a short slice of the project available for download via GameJolt for a short time, but it has since been removed. Given Konami’s untimely cancellation of Silent Hills, the game that P.T. would have ultimately become, it’s still a disappointing situation.
