The Legendary Dragon and Psychic type Pokémon Latias and Latios are arriving in Pokémon GO. Latias will appear in Europe and Asia while Latios will appear in North America, South America, and Africa starting April 2. Starting May 8, they will switch places and be available until June 5.
Continuing what’s being called the legendary year, Niantic is bringing two Gen 3 Legendary Pokémon to Pokémon GO.
Known as the Eon Duo, these two Legendary Pokémon are known for being highly intelligent, and have the ability to communicate telepathically with humans. These Pokémon will only be around for a limited time and, much like the Legendary Beast Pokémon of Gen 2, will be region specific until they swap places at a certain date.
Starting April 2nd, the Legendary Pokémon Latias will appear in Raid Battles across Europe and Asia, while Latios will appear in North America, South America, and Africa. You’ll be able to battle these Pokémon until they switch places on May 8th and will be available until June 5th.
In addition to adding two new Legendary Pokémon, you will start to see Pokémon like Tyranitar and Mawile appear more in Raid Battles to help give you a chance to get a great counter against Latias and Latios. If you’re wondering what Pokémon to use against the Eon Duo, check out our Latias and Latios guide and find out which Pokémon will be the best.
Now that we have the Eon Duo finally coming to Pokémon GO, that only leaves a few more Legendary Pokémon in Gen 3 to introduce. The ones remaining are Regice, Registeel, and Regirock. Hopefully we can expect these Legendary Titans to grace us with their presence over this coming summer. Just like with all Legendary Pokémon, TL;DR Games will cover what counters are best used against them, so you can gain an advantage and catch these Pokémon to add to your PokéDex.
