Final Fantasy XIV patch 5.45 maintenance time and details

Updates to blue mage, Resistance weapons, and more.

All Final Fantasy XIV servers will soon be down for maintenance to implement Patch 5.45. Expect the servers to be unavailable from Monday, February 1 at 9 PM PT to Tuesday, February 2 at 2 AM PT. As usual, the exact completion time is subject to change. Maintenance could end sooner, or it could go on for a little longer. Also, the World Transfer Service will be down, starting 30 minutes before maintenance begins. If you’re in the middle of transferring servers at this time, you’ll have to wait until maintenance is over to complete the process.

Patch 5.45 brings several updates to Final Fantasy XIV. Blue mage gets a long-awaited level cap raise to 70. Everyone will have new spells to learn, along with brand new job-specific gear. You’ll also find new challenges to tackle in the blue mage log and the Masked Carnivale. Unfortunately, it looks like blue mage won’t be able to enter the level 70 Ultimate raids. So if you hoped to go after those tough fights as a party full of blue mages, you’re sadly out of luck.

We’re also getting an update to the level 80 Resistance weapon questline, called Save the Queen: Past to Rest. Players will battle the IVth Imperial Legion once again, pouring more efforts into aiding the Bozjan Resistance to take back their home. A mysterious temple awaits beneath the ruins of Queen Gunnhildr’s kingdom. Delubrum Reginae is the next large-scale battlefield as part of the Bozjan storyline.

Finally, crafters and gatherers have additional Skysteel tools to look forward to. The best of the best for Disciples of the Hand and Land, these tools are tough to get, but they’re well worth it in the end. The latest Skysteel tools requirements will likely be quite steep. Overall, Patch 5.45 sounds packed with content. There’s plenty to keep players busy until Patch 5.5 and 5.55, the next major updates down the line, wrapping up story content for the current Shadowbringers expansion, and then the countdown to Final Fantasy XIV’s next expansion will finally begin.
