The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta has been announced this weekend for PS Plus members.
Capcom revealed in a tweet today that the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta would be held this weekend. The bad news is that it appears to be PlayStation 4 exclusive, and only for people with a PS Plus membership (which I guess is everyone who plays Monster Hunter World). The good news is that a second beta test will be open to all PlayStation 4 users at a future date.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is the follow-up expansion to Capcom’s smash hit monster-smacking simulator. The expansion is said to nearly double the size of the game, and this will be player’s first chance to get a look at the new, snowy area that will be open for exploration.
The beta will run from 3 am PDT/11am BST on Friday, June 21 until 3 am PDT/11am BST on Monday, June 24. Meanwhile, the second beta that will be open to all PlayStation 4 users will run from 3 am PDT/11am BST on Friday, June 28 until 3 am PDT/11am BST on Monday, July 1.
Both betas will have a preload option, according to Capcom. I would expect to see the preload go live on PS Plus later today. It should also be noted, you do not need the base game to take part in the beta, so if you have never played Monster Hunter World, and wish to see what all the fuss is about, you can take part.
The beta will consist of three quest choices, all set in the new area. These will include the Great Jadras hunt, the new wyvern Banbaro, and even the return of the Tigrex, a monster so fierce its name is a part tiger, part T-Rex. You will also be able to get to grips with (sorry!) the new Clutch Claw tool. Most important of all, you will get your first glimpse of the new armors and weapons that will be a part of the real Fashion endgame of all these titles.
