If you’ve been patiently waiting for a new Armored Core game since the last one in 2013, you might soon see something coming down the pipeline. It looks like the president of From Software, Hidetaka Miyazaki, may have just teased a new game, or at least confirmed that the company has been thinking about it.Â
In December 2017, From Software’s Yasunori Ogura said that the company had “no intention” of just ending the Armored Core series and urged fans to “please wait” longer for some sort of announcement. It looks like that might be a possibility soon, despite everything else the developer has on its plate.Â
In an interview with Famitsu, Miyazaki said that, during a previous interview, he mentioned that From Software had “three things” moving along on the development line, and that the new PlayStation VR title Deracine wasn’t one of those. Famitsu quizzed Miyazaki on whether he was addressing “fans whose bodies are seeking conflict,” and he didn’t exactly deny it. The fans in question are Armored Core diehards, named after a hilarious Japanese meme.Â
It doesn’t mean that we’re going to absolutely see a new Armored Core game soon, but this does give fans some hope for the future. It has been five years after all, so it’s about time for the series to welcome a new entry. From Software does have its hands full at the moment, however, so it might be some time until we hear more in terms of the popular mech series.
In the meantime, we’ll be keeping an eye out for additional statements from Miyazaki regarding Armored Core’s future.
