Add another role to Nolan North’s ridiculous long resume. It looks like the busy video game voice actor will be lending his talents to Destiny 2: Forsaken, taking over the role of Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 from Nathan Fillion.

Add another role to Nolan North’s ridiculous long resume. It looks like the busy video game voice actor will be lending his talents to Destiny 2: Forsaken, taking over the role of Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 from Nathan Fillion.

Fillion went on Kotaku’s Splitscreen podcast to confirm the switch, stating that he “wasn’t available” for the latest installment. “No, that wasn’t me,” he said of Cayde-6’s appearance in the E3 2018 for Destiny 2: Forsaken. “In a wonderful, amazing turn of events, it’s actually Nolan North.”

This isn’t the first time North has worked within the Destiny world. In 2015, he re-recorded Peter Dinklage’s infamous lines (“That wizard came from the moon!”) as Ghost. Originally, fans had assumed the switch was because of Dinklage’s apparent hackneying for the role. Bungie clarified at a later date that the switch was made ultimately due to the Game of Thrones star’s availability.

The switcheroo is funny considering that Fillion recently starred as Nolan North’s character Nathan Drake in a live action Uncharted fan film.

As far as that whole Cayde-6 dying thing, though? Fillion “absolutely loves” the character and doesn’t “personally believe it” that the character is died for good.

“He should be able to come back,” Fillion said. “I mean that’s their whole thing, is that they come back right? The whole thing is the resurrection.” Unfortunately for Fillion, it appears that Bungie has been making it a point to remind players that Cayde-6 will remain dead in the new Destiny 2 expansion.

If that’s the case, the actor is interested in doing a “prequel” and reprising the role for “how we get to Caydes one through five.”

Destiny 2: Forsaken releases Sep. 4 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
