Pokémon GO will have Legendary Raid Hours featuring “spooky” Legendary Pokémon in October.

October is here, which means it’s time to get spooky. Pokémon GO is celebrating the spookiest month of the year with Legendary Raid Hours featuring “spooky” Legendary Pokémon.

For one hour every Wednesday evening this month, a specific Legendary Pokémon will appear as a Raid Boss more frequently. This spawn timer makes it easier to not only find some of these Legendary Pokémon in the first place but catch multiples of them to stock up on Candy. For October, Pokémon GO has chosen some especially spooky Legendary Pokémon to get featured during these Legendary Raid Hours.

From 6:00 P.M. through 7:00pm on Oct. 2, 9, and 16, Altered Forme Giratina will be the featured Legendary Raid Boss. Giratina is one of very few Ghost-type Legendary Pokémon, making it a perfect fit for October’s Legendary Raid Hours. Be wary of its dual Ghost/Dragon-typing, though. Altered Forme Giratina also has higher defensive stats and lower offensive stats than Origin Forme Giratina, so keep that in mind when taking it on in a Raid Battle.

From 6:00 P.M. through 7:00pm on Oct. 23 and 30, five-star Raid Battles will feature a spooky Legendary Pokémon. They have yet to announce what Legendary Pokemon will show. It seems likely that it will be Darkrai since being the only Dark-type Legendary Pokémon lets it fit the “spooky” bill. Darkrai is also Giratina’s counterpart in being a Legendary Pokémon from Generation IV. However, Darkrai is technically a Mythical Pokémon, not a Legendary Pokémon so that it may be saved for Special Research instead. But since Deoxys is also technically a Mythical Pokémon that has appeared as a Raid Boss, it seems likely that Darkrai could too. We’ll have to wait and see.
