Super Smash Bros. Getting Resident Evil Spirits Next Week

Could Jill Valentine and Wesker be Smash bound?

It’s always great to see what kind of Spirit events come up in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. But a new one suggests that we could see something from the Resident Evil universe.

A tweet from the Nintendo Versus account notes that a special event that will introduce four Resident Evil characters as spirits into the game. Based on the picture above, it’ll feature favorites like Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Wesker.

It reads that the event will take place on Nov. 29 and run for five days.

This event is sure to be fun for fans of the game, but this leads to a more interesting question. Could we see a Resident Evil character join the roster as the fifth and final character of Smash Ultimate’s downloadable content? We have witnessed Capcom favorites enter the fray before, like Mega Man and Ryu of Street Fighter fame. So someone like the Nemesis, Jill Valentine or Wesker would fit right in.

Nintendo hasn’t confirmed any further details beyond what’s in the tweet, so we’re on a “wait and see” basis. But hopefully we’ll see some more information soon, as well as a potential confirmation of the newest character. Christmas might be sweet for Smash fans if the timing is right.
