During a recent interview with Game Informer, From Software has shared more details about storytelling in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Thanks to this interview, we learn that Sekiro’s protagonist, The Wolf, actually speaks – it’s the first time for the Japanese studio.
Of course, this isn’t a change only in terms of what you hear from your character, but also an evolution in the way the looks at him.
“This time we have a fixed protagonist and we have a cast of characters who we’re trying to build that story around,” manager of marketing and communications Yasuhiro Kitao says.
“We’re trying to tell more of a drama, if you will, of these characters.”
“One nice thing about basing the story around these characters is we get to play with the relationship between these characters, between [The Wolf] and the Young Lord, and how their relationship kind of evolves throughout the game,” Kitao added.
Interestingly, he said that at an early point in the game we’ll have The Wolf and Young Lord playing side by side, even though it won’t be an escort mission.
In the title, we’ll follow The Wolf’s quest to find Young Lord, who gets kidnapped by strangers, and have revenge after his arm gets cut off in the brutal attack, hence the prostatic arm.
The game’s releasing on March 22, 2019 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
