Time to continue building up the world in Civilization—or dooming it.
Strategy sim Sid Meier’s Civilization VI continues its quest for world domination—or at least domination of the world’s video game devices—with multiple new releases this week.
First, the PC version’s most recent expansion pack, Gathering Storm, has made its way to the game’s mobile iOS version starting today. In addition to eight new civilizations, nine new world leaders, additional monuments, and the return of the World Congress, Gathering Storm brings climate change to the Civ series for the first time, featuring environmental hazards like volcanoes, blizzards, sand storms, and floods. The expansion is available now as an In-App Purchase on the App Store.
On the console front, pre-load of Civilization VI is available now in preparation for the game’s debut on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 tomorrow. This release marks the first time in more than a decade that a Civ title has been available on a PlayStation or Xbox console.
Before you take “one more turn,” check out the launch trailer below for a glimpse at how the UI and controls have been refit to work with a controller, similar to the Nintendo Switch release from just over a year ago.
Speaking of the Switch, developer 2K Games isn’t leaving Nintendo fans at the wayside either: The Expansion Bundle, which includes both expacs—Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm—launches simultaneously for Xbox, PS4, and Nintendo Switch tomorrow as well.
