Stardew Valley’s most recent major 1.5 update is on-track for console release, according to core game developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. Barone believes a release of “late this month” or “early next month” is likely, considering the amount of time a game certification submission takes.
Stardew Valley’s update 1.5 arrived for PC on December 21, 2020, and it’s the most extensive update for the game so far. Most notable features from the update include the addition of the Beach Farm, new character options, split-screen cooperative play, brand new music, the Advanced Game Options Menu, and many other reforms.
Released in 2016, Stardew Valley has been a knockout success, truly setting the bar for what an open-ended country-life RPG is all about. So far, in-game content and frequent updates have been flowing steadily, keeping players coming back for more. A fast-approaching 1.5 update for consoles is excellent news for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One Stardew Valley players alike. At this time, there is no word on the update coming to mobile.
