I spoke last week about my love for Vermintide, and now you get to share my love. Vermintide 2 was released today! Available on Steam, this is developer Fatshark’s follow up to the very successful original. I have been playing the Beta, and happily got stuck into the full game today. If you are not sure what Vermintide 2 is, this blurb from the developers should clue you in.

The 5 heroes have returned to take on an even greater threat – the combined forces of the cowardly Skaven army and the barbaric Chaos faction. Prepare to be challenged like never before as you and your team desperately try to survive the never-ending hordes of enemies. Choose between 15 different careers, climb the talent tree, and customize your weapon arsenal to fit your unique play style as you fight your way through 13 stunning levels. The only thing standing between utter defeat and victory is you and your allies – if you fall, so will the Empire.

High stakes then, as your merry band of adventurers seeks to thwart the plans of mice and evil men.

I don’t want to give the game away too much, you will have to wait for my review to find out my expanded thoughts. I will say, however, that I have really enjoyed my time with the game so far. The action is fast and fluid, it has been running like a dream for me, and some of the issues I had with the original have been solved. The game will also be releasing on PS4 and Xbox One at a future date, so if you are interested, but do not own a PC, don’t fret. You will get to play the game at a future date.

Vermintide 2 is available on Steam right now for $29.99/€27.99/£22.99.
