Your landing spot can make or break your game in Fortnite, especially during Chapter 5 Season 1. If you don’t grab solid loot quickly, someone will come for you soon.
Fortnite’s map is full of secret corners that await your discovery. And while it’s hard to steer clear of the named locations and all their allure, you should only land here if you have a death wish. Fortnite’s best landing spots are hidden inside rooms and in the most remote corners of the map. In this guide, I’ll show you the best ten landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, so you can get the upper hand in the battle that’s to come.
1. The Weapon Case Room East of Classy Courts
This one is by far my favorite spot to drop in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. East of Classy Courts, you’ll run into a fenced factory with a DJ booth.
While a bunch of ammo, chests, and common and rare weapons are lying around, the real treasure lies inside the building behind a green door blocked with boxes. Break the boxes to enter a weapon case room that will give you three rare weapons, including a Reaper Sniper. It’s the ideal quiet spot to land, grab your three rares, and waltz out before the Storm wipes you out.
2. On the Yatch West of Pleasant Piazza
The Yatch west of Pleasant Piazza contains one of Fortnite’s lesser-known, scarcely protected vaults. While most Vaults are protected by a boss, this one isn’t.
Not many people come here, so it’s easy to crack every treasure chest open, snag all the ammo lying on the ground, and then kill a Legion member for the grand finale and open the vault on the Yatch’s lower floor. Inside the vault, you’ll find one blue and two gold chests full of loot for you.
3. The Weapon Case Underground South of Pleasant Piazza
This place would be the best landing spot in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, if it hadn’t gotten pretty crowded in the last few weeks. People have gotten word of just how good it is, so expect some competition.

You’ll find a small house by the road by landing south of Pleasant Piazza. Inside, drop down to enter Jonesy’s underground weapon case. This place is brimming with rare and epic loot. You can also purchase shields from Jonesy to get some extra protection.
4. On the Train, As it Moves
As evidenced by how long my Week 3 quests have been sitting unfinished, nobody lands on the train. In fact, nobody pays much attention to the train at all unless it’s to quickly get away from incoming fire.
And I get why: the train and dooming Storm are incompatible. However, at the start of the match, the Storm won’t be much of an issue. Landing on the moving train and hacking it to get extra loot gives you the upper hand in the match.
5. On the Weapon Case Room Northwest of Snooty Steppes
If the weapon case underground south of Pleasant Piazza is getting too busy for your taste, why not try the weapon case room northwest of Snooty Steppes? It’s further away from named POIs, which always means less trouble. The loot is not nearly as good, but that doesn’t negate this from being one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1.
6. On the Southmost Peninsula
The southmost Peninsula in the Fortnite map rarely gets any visits, but much like the Yatch in the west, there is an unprotected Vault here. Just kill a Legion member, get the Vault key, grab your loot, and bounce out before the Storm wipes you out.
7. On the Weapon Case Room in Rebel’s Roost
Rebel’s Roost is one of the less visited named locations. Unless it’s a Golden Hotspot, that is. However, in most cases, you won’t run into any trouble looting its weapon case room. To find it, look for the mansion with the reboot van in the front yard. Once inside, follow the arrow graffiti until you run into the weapon case room with all the loot.
8. The Isolated Mansion North Center of the Map
Now that Winterburg isn’t full of ice-skating rinks, presents, and NPCs, it’s actually a much quieter place. Touch down at the remote mansion dead center north of the map for a treasure trove. Plus, zip lines flanking the mansion offer access to loot on both the left island and the area north of Classy Courts on the right. This easy mobility between one place and the other makes this one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1.
9. The Trail of Boats north of Grand Glacier
Nothing can get you killed faster in a Fortnite battle royale match than not having enough health or shields. Though Flowberry Fizz is arguably the best way to get shields, it’s not easy to run into it.
Instead, why not kick off the match with a strong start by breaking the game’s biggest supply of slurp barrels? Land on this area and open the containers to find more slurp barrels than you could ever possibly one.
10. The Mansion South of Fencing Fields
The Mansion south of fencing fields is a treasure trove of loot. Again, not a lot of people come here, so it’s the perfect spot to fill your pockets before you charge into battle.
