Destiny 2 Sorrow’s Verse God Roll Guide – PvP and PvE

Sorrow's Verse is a great option for those looking for an auto rifle to do PvP content in Destiny 2.

Sorrow’s Verse is a neat weapon for those looking for a good auto rifle to do PvP content in Destiny 2. It’s relatively easy to get, and it offers some interesting rolls when trying to outduel opponents.

Sorrow’s Verse is a fantastic option for a mid-range automatic weapon that has some quick-eliminating abilities with fast reloads. In my gameplay, I make use of their rapid-fire abilities in PvE, which allows me to take out minor enemies rapidly.

You could argue that it has more range than an SMG, but if the added range is what you are looking for, then I would suggest using a hand cannon or pulse rifle, if I’m being honest. In PvP, however, Sorrow’s Verse is a good choice on maps with both long-range and close-range engagement areas, such as Rusted Lands. It is also a very stable weapon, making it a popular choice for controller players.

How to get Sorrow’s Verse in Destiny 2

Sorrow’s Verse in Destiny 2 is obtainable by focusing it from Shaxx’s menu and earning rank-up packages via the crucible. I obtained mine by completing crucible matches. Unlike some other playlist activities, the crucible has a large variety of options for you to farm for the weapon in, making it a bit more bearable to go for your ideal roll. That being said, take note that Sorrow’s Verse does not drop in limited-time crucible playlists such as Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris.

Sorrow’s Verse Stats

  • Impact: 21
  • Range: 50
  • Stability: 41
  • Handling: 68
  • Reload Speed: 62
  • Rounds per minute: 600
  • Magazine Size: 41

PvP God Roll

If you are looking to use an auto rifle in PvP, Sorrow’s Verse is a pretty solid option. It has a good range stat for its auto rifle status, with a large magazine to go along with it. I like to go for damage perks so I can tear through multiple opposing guardians using only one or two clips. Dynamic Sway Reduction is also a good option if you use a controller, as it makes tracking enemies easier.

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk 1: Subsistence / Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Perk 2: Rampage
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Mod: Icarus Grip

PvE God Roll

As I mentioned earlier, Sorrow’s Verse is probably not the best option for PvE activities in Destiny 2 because it is significantly inferior to SMGs and even other auto rifles. That said, if you really like the weapon like I do or are just determined to give it a try, it does come with some pretty good perks that we can make use of.

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Break
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk 1: Feeding Frenzy
  • Perk 2: Frenzy
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Mod: Spec Mod
