In Metro Exodus, it’s vital to be able to sneak around unseen. Bandits and mutants can both come running if they see your flashlight, so you will need to get your hands on the night vision goggles to be able to truly sneak around unseen. Night vision goggles can be an absolute game changer, as they will allow to take on bandit camps in the dark, while still being able to see clearly. This means you will have all the information you need, while your enemy flounders around in the dark. People will also need to pick these up if they want to get the Kaleidoscope Achievement.
Where To Find Night Vision Goggles
Unless you are the kind of person who likes to visit every area on the map, it can be easy enough to miss out on the night vision goggles. They become available to you in The Volga level, during Chapter 3.
The first step is to head to the area marked 1 on the above map. Here you will find a building filled with bandits. Sneak in, and clear out the bandits. Be careful, as they have some traps set up that will make noise if you hit them! Once the place is cleared, free the two men in the cage on the ground floor. One of them will give you a key to say thank you for saving his life.
At the end of the chapter, when you are trying to get the train car out of the terminal, you will be able to open a locked door marked above with the number 2. In this room you will find the night vision goggles! Just unlock the door and head inside, the goggles will be on a table to your right.
